Meinhardt Group CEO, Mr Omar Shahzad, exchanged the Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Deputy Mayor of Tashkent, Mr Sharof D Rakhmanov, at the Uzbekistan-Singapore Business Forum organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Singapore, and held on 16 January 2023 at the SBF Center.
Global planning, design, project and construction management firm, Meinhardt Group will accelerate its foray into Uzbekistan as part of its global business strategy, and on the back of high level meetings that took place in mid January with a delegation of Government officials led by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Speaking at the Uzbekistan-Singapore Business Forum: Uzbekistan’s New Economic Era, Beyond 2023, held at the Singapore Business Federation Center on 16 January, H.E. Mr Lazio Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, outlined the sweeping range of reforms that the country has undertaken to foster a favourable business climate, and urged Singapore companies to play an active role in the development of Uzbekistan’s economy.

We have been very impressed with Uzbekistan’s fast paced economic and urban development trajectory over the past several years. We believe we can contribute to the continued urban development and infrastructure development of the country by leveraging our global capabilities and experience. Uzbekistan is also very well positioned in Central Asia, a region with strong economic growth fundamentals.
Meinhardt is already undertaking a number of projects in Uzbekistan. These include several industrial projects and the construction supervision of a national road development project funded by the Asian Development Bank and slated for completion at the end of next year.
Meinhardt has also signed an agreement with Prime Tower Group, a leading real estate developer in the country, to jointly pursue and develop opportunities. “We look forward to our complementary partnership with Prime Tower Group and collectively contributing our experience and ideas to the development and implementation of viable projects in Uzbekistan,” said Mr Shahzad.
