Global Switch Hong Kong, Achieves LEED-CS 2009 Platinum Certification

Data centres are notorious for electricity consumption. Imagine a green data centre that not only emits 16,000 tonnes of CO2 less / year than normal data centres, but uses recycled potable water for sewage purposes, is built from 14% recycled materials and has bicycle parking facilities with showers to encourage green transport.

These are just some of the features of Global Switch’s Hong Kong data centre (stage 1) that enabled it to clinch the LEED-CS 2009 Platinum certification recently.

Meinhardt Hong Kong achieved this significant milestone together with its client Global Switch and partner Gammon Engineering & Construction Co Ltd.
