April 16, 2024Meinhardt Group is thrilled to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bureau of Public Works of Shenzhen Longhua District.

Located on the coast of the South China Sea, Shenzhen is China’s first Special Economic Zone and well regarded as a miracle in the annals of urban development. At the central axis of Shenzhen's dynamic urban landscape lies Longhua District, an area synonymous with progress and innovation which plays a pivotal role in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor.
The MOU between the Bureau of Public Works of Shenzhen Longhua District and Meinhardt Group encompasses professional consultancy, and technical services and support in relation to urban development and construction projects.
It was signed by Mr Xiong Bin, Director of the Bureau of Public Works of Shenzhen Longhua District, and Mr Go Yang San, Managing Director of Meinhardt Singapore. And officiated and witnessed by the Honourable Deputy District Mayor of Shenzhen Longhua District People’s Government, Mr Wang Chao Cheng, and Mr Omar Shahzad, Group CEO of Meinhardt.
The ceremony took place on 11 December at the China (Shenzhen Longhua)-Singapore Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar which was organised by the Shenzhen Longhua District People's Government in partnership with Meinhardt Group. It was held at The Singapore EDITION and attended by a high-level delegation from Shenzhen, China, including Mr Wang, Mr Xiong, Mr Jiang Yu Liang, Chief Officer of the Branch Bureau of Longhua of the Bio Environment of Shenzhen Municipality, and Mr Bai Hong Tao, Chairman of Shenzhen Longhua Drainage Co., Ltd.
The seminar was a remarkable gathering of distinguished guests, industry leaders, and visionary minds from both China and Singapore.
We also had the privilege of hosting prominent speakers such as Mr Omar Shahzad, Meinhardt's Group CEO, who shared invaluable insights on the firm's journey towards becoming the largest privately held engineering firm in Asia, as well as the key projects and infrastructure that it has helped to build and develop in China; Mr Tay Lian Chew, Deputy CEO of Singapore Cooperation Enterprise, who delivered a speech on the common challenges that Shenzhen and Singapore face in the course of developing a liveable city and the opportunities for collaboration; Mr Pang Yee Ean, Founder of Urbina Capital, who shared his wealth of experience from leadership roles at Surbana Jurong Capital and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and delved into the realm of infrastructure and urban development, as well as Mr Xiong who highlighted the remarkable achievements of the Bureau of Public Works of Shenzhen Longhua District and its contributions to Longhua District's development.
