The two recipients for Fellowship of ICE (FICE) were Dr Shahzad Nasim, Executive Chairman of Meinhardt Group International Ltd and Dr Juneid Qureshi, Division Managing Director of Civil & Structural Division, Meinhardt (Singapore) Pte Ltd. This title is the highest grade of membership which is given to engineers who are well-known and respected in the industry for their high level of knowledge, ability and experience. Both Dr Nasim and Dr Qureshi, with more than 40 years and 28 years of experience respectively, are senior professionals who have made significant contributions to the society through exhibiting exceptional leadership skills in promoting, planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and managing important engineering work. ICE promotes civil engineering and supports the people who work in the profession.
Structural engineers, Mr Thomas Akrigg and Mr George Cullinane and Façade Engineer, Ms Chiara Tosi were the other three recipients from Meinhardt (UK) Ltd who became qualified members of ICE (MICE). This MICE grade is an internationally recognised qualification which is given to those who display the knowledge and skills of a high standard. Besides shaping and contributing to the natural and built environment, these recipients are also mentors to young engineers – they give back by inspiring and supporting these young engineers.
