This will require rapid development of world-class infrastructure including rail, road and air connectivity with the region. Uzbekistan, we believe, is the key to unlocking Asia’s potential by providing a land bridge between Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Dr Nasim highlighted that over the last few years, Meinhardt Group has been paying closer attention to the Central Asian region especially Uzbekistan as part of its global business strategy. Of late, Meinhardt’s expansion plans in Uzbekistan have been accelerated through its close collaboration with the President’s team in Singapore led by Deputy Mayor of Tashkent City, Mr Sharof D Rakhmanov.
In his meeting with President Mirziyoyev, Dr Nasim also underscored Meinhardt’s commitment to set up its first office and a Smart City Centre of Excellence in Uzbekistan.
“We are keen to establish our operation in Uzbekistan, and leverage our global experience and expertise to assist in the development of a world-class infrastructure masterplan, industrial and manufacturing plants, and logistics facilities to further reinforce our business and assist in implementing your vision,” said Dr Nasim.
