John McGuire

Meinhardt ANZ Regional CEO


 

John is the Chief Executive Office for the Meinhardt Australia and New Zealand business, responsible for the performance, operations and strategic direction of the business.

He has enjoyed a formidable career over the past thirty-five years having vast leadership experience in ANZ and global roles.

With an early career in the field of sustainable building design and healthcare facility design, John was fortunate to lead many notable projects across the region, including The Playhouse at the Queensland Cultural Centre, Brisbane; Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, and Al Bustan Abu Dhabi.

He has held leadership positions in Brisbane, Western Australia, Victoria and South Australia with global engineering consultancy AECOM, and was also the global Managing Director Built Environment for Aurecon, a role spanning 17 offices and encompassing 2,000 staff.

He has gained expertise and recognition in the field of strategy and innovation, resulting in his appointment as Chief Innovation Officer and Chief Design Officer at Aurecon, and also DRA Global.

John graduated with a first-class honour’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Limerick in Ireland, followed by post graduate qualifications in business law from Curtin University. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia, and has held multiple advisory positions to organisations such as the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Melbourne and the Australian Design Council.

He is a regular speaker at international conferences and is a periodic lecturer in sustainable design at the University of Western Australia and Curtin University. His focus in Meinhardt ANZ is on creating value for our clients through innovation and creativity, as well as enduring and rewarding careers for our staff.
