Second largest main tank in the World. Reinforced concrete spiral ramp with 10m cantilevers.
The Antalya Aquarium design process was centered on creating a vanishing silhouette and harmony with the surrounding topography. At the back of the ground floor, a shaded public area was created to protect visitors from the wind and allow them to enjoy the sun. This area is a point of approach, gather and diffusion for the project. The wavy, curvaceous shell of this space houses the information and fast-food areas, the amphitheater and the box office.
The travel path around the aquarium starts with facility information and sea fish before continuing past cave fish, world rivers, jellyfish, Turkey fish, predatory fish, sharks, the main 5 million liters tank and ending at the 131-meter tunnel. Each stop along this path is designed to have its own character.
