Meinhardt Group started its operations in the Malaysia more than three decades ago. Some of our early projects in KL included JW Marriott & Starhill Shopping Centre, Wisma KFC & Refurbishment of Menara Standard Chartered. Since then, we have completed a multitude of projects across Malaysia such as KL Sentral Stesen; Petronas Tower 3; Four Seasons Hotel; TNB Headquarter Campus, and St Regis resort in Langkawi. In recent years, the Group has seen a significant uptake in infrastructure projects in Malaysia. For example, we have been privileged to be involved in the majority of the design packages related to the 600km East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project. We have also made significant contributions to the reference design packages related to KL-Singapore High Speed Railway, infrastructure planning and design of KLIA Aerotropolis.
He further elaborated: “Our decision to host the Global Board meeting in Malaysia highlights our unwavering dedication to this vibrant market and our pro-active approach to implementing our expansion strategies. Over the past five years, our operations in Malaysia have experienced remarkable growth, with our team size more than doubling to nearly 400 employees. This expansion is a direct result of our strategic decision to elevate our Kuala Lumpur office as a regional hub for our design services and a global centre of excellence for our retail fuel business. This move not only reinforces our commitment to Malaysia but also positions us for continued success and leadership in the industry.”
“We are thrilled to unveil a series of strategic growth initiatives that will significantly enhance our presence in Malaysia. As part of our commitment to strengthening our regional operations, we are elevating our Engineering Procurement Construction Management (EPCM) division in Malaysia to serve as our regional headquarters. This move underscores our commitment to drive excellence and innovation and internationalise our capabilities in Malaysia. In addition to this, we are bolstering our Penang office, positioning it as a global centre of excellence for the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors. This initiative will propel our capabilities and support cutting-edge developments in these critical industries. Furthermore, we are excited to announce the opening of new offices in Johor and Kuching by the end of this year. With these dynamic new initiatives, we anticipate our Malaysia operations will emerge as a vital node within our global network, driving progress and delivering exceptional value to our clients and stakeholders worldwide,” he added.
Moreover, the Group is currently in active discussions with various government bodies and academic institutions to roll out a comprehensive training programme that will train and employ fresh local graduates. “Our Graduate Training Programme, known for its credibility and excellence, has been instrumental in sculpting many of our present-day leaders,” said Mr Shahzad.
