Art’Otel London

Art’Otel is a mixed-use development consisting of a 26 storey tower with a 6 storey wing block, over a 4 storey basement. In total, this development will include circa 2,000m2 of Retail areas, 6,500m2 of Commercial area and 21,000m2 of Hotel. The main tower will incorporate all uses indifferent floors, therefore there are multiple levels of transfer where the structural grid is optimized to the proposed use on the pertinent floors.

The site is located in Central London (Old Street), with several logistic constraints that will influence the construction sequence and methodology, which in turn will affect the structural and architectural design. In particular, the excavation of a 4 storey basement occupying the entire footprint of the site, is a particular challenge of the scheme, involving coordination with the Council Highways and TFL.
